CEO and founder Nina Färdig
Green Laces is the Nordic region’s leading store for vegan shoes and accessories, with a strong focus on design, comfort, and environmentally friendly, ethical production. The store was founded in 2010 after several years of research by Nina Färdig, who has a long background in the music and language industries as well as the animal rights movement.
The main driving force behind Green Laces was the desire to make information about non-animal materials more accessible — their benefits, and how to make environmentally friendly and ethical choices when purchasing shoes and accessories. Green Laces was also born out of a passion for fashion and a strong belief that ethics and exploratory, expressive style are not in opposition to one another.

Our range ensures fair working conditions and the use of thoughtfully selected ethical materials.
The collection is PETA-certified and consists of brands that guarantee good working conditions throughout every stage of production, use sustainable materials that are completely free from animal-derived components and harmful chemicals, and advocate environmentally responsible manufacturing.
Green Laces offers products with carefully considered, comfortable design that does not increase the wearer’s ecological footprint. The majority of our products are made from non-animal leather alternatives, organic fibers combined with synthetics such as PU or microfiber materials. The result is a breathable, flexible, durable, and biodegradable alternative to animal leather.
Several of the brands we carry also actively develop new types of vegan shoes and accessories, striving to create sustainable, fully plant-based materials. For example, by-products from food production are used, and leather alternatives are now made from pineapple, apple, cactus, tea, and corn fibers in selected products. As a result, the share of organic and plant-based materials in our assortment continues to grow.
