Karin founded Irmas Fabric, named after her grandmother Irma, to create sustainable materials with style and function. When she couldn't find the perfect everyday bag in vegan leather, she designed it herself – and at the same time realized the need for new, plastic-free bio-based materials.
As an entrepreneur, Karin identifies problems and solves them. This led to a research collaboration with Rise, where she is developing a plastic-free, leather-like material from waste products from apples and the forest industry.
Irmas Fabric shows that the materials of the future can be both stylish, functional and sustainable – created with consideration for both people and the environment.
